All the interconnected cables have to be packed together properly to avoid endangering anyone. Passengers waiting at the station, railway staff supervising the arriving trains and train drivers responsible for safe arrival must not be put in danger by cables lying around. The cable house ensures order and safety! The Gotthard Line in Switzerland is probably one of the most famous railway lines in the world. It goes through Switzerland from north to south, from Lucerne to Chiasso, and over the Gotthard Pass. In 1920 – exactly 100 years ago – they began to electrify the line so that famous locos such as the »Crocodile« and the 4/4 could operate later. These typical little cable huts were erected along the line.
